Comfort is paramount for me. The Pico-4 was SO comfortable compared to the front-heavy quest. This is a day-one buy for me.

A1. ----------- I think it’s the ideal headset (today, AT THIS PRICE) if you want a wireless standalone. And I’m not saying it’s “the best” buy of a headset. That depends on your wallet and what you choose to play, largely. No, It can’t compete with a direct display port, HDMI set up with a computer, where the compute is happening on the GPU, rather than the headset. So as a stand-alone? Yes. They absolutely compete. I don’t see the Quest 3’s lens being remotely as clear as these. The PPI (pixels density ) is on par or better if I recall with the quest 3. The balance … OMG the basics that Meta refuses to change. It’s lighter. It’s better quality. 🤷‍♂️. But all this is from someone sitting in the US who can only go on specs. So I’m willing to eat some of my words. But the testing seems to bear most of this out, no? (looks in “through the lens” 👀 lmao). But even if the testing bears it out… the US one of the largest markets can’t buy them, because well, 45 🤷‍♂️ Now if you want BOTH a stand-alone AND a PCVR … then this wouldn’t be it, if it meant compressed vid to the headset etc. , totally. But one last thing: Chyna doesn’t care. I don’t know when people are going to catch a clue. They have an entire culture in world that is unfathomably larger than ours. But we pretend that it’s not. So imagine if they sold 200 times the number of headsets just because they have a larger population… Do you see? They don’t care about the US market. It’s a pain in the ass. They will fight for TikTok. But they’re not exactly screaming to sell their headset. Do you see? They don’t care. Lol. That makes me sad though because I would like to try the headset.😢 I think it looks like a quality product, and you can’t just hate on it because it came from China. Those days are over. It should be OK to like some thing that is made well. (And I’m not pro China. I’m just talking about a headset. And that could be any headset made by anybody in any country.)

The Pico4 is my favorite headset, especially for its comfort. It's a shame that mine has a problem (the tracking stopped working), and I can't find a place to repair it.

I love the pico 4. The amount of problems I had originally setting up the quest etc. for PCVR, The pico went straight in the quest had issues okay? Nowadays things are levelled out but with the quest I still get screen door issues with the PCO feels like I’m looking at the real world. Hopefully this is the vast improvement over the other. Really looking forward to can’t wait for it.

Do u have the pico 4? My son got one before Christmas & hasn't been able to use his again not once after the batteries died in his controllers. Now no matter what he can't connect his controllers . We've tried new batteries, tries EVERYTHING... Any advice??

Thanks for your info! I have the Quest3 which I like a lot and also the Pico4 that I use often. Seeing the specs of the Pico4 Ultra, I'm considering buying one and give my Pico4 away. I like some games, I love it for PCVR, the only thing I'm not so crazy about are the controllers of my Pico4 (holding them is not easy). I was planning to buy a Quest3s for fitness, and use my Quest3 for gaming and watching movies. But the Pico4 Ultra gets me triggered. Then I will change my mind: keeping the Quest3 for fitness and using the Pico4 Ultra for playing (PCVR) games and watching movies. In any case, I'll wait for the final reviews.... so in a few months.

I still will not buy Pico products until they are distributed and sold in the US. I know I could order from the UK and get one of their products, but prefer to do my ordering of products through American distributors. This is probably a political thing why we don't see Pico in the US. I am happy with my current VR headset I have, so also not really looking or needing anything newer. Thanks for the video. I can't imagine it competing with the market leader Quest 3 at the moment but at least for the VRChat players a lot of Quest users would probably upgrade/sidegrade to this headset to get that super affordable full body tracking without the need for a PC until they can afford it.

Have a Q3 with Bobo head strap/big battery. No reason to purchase the Pico ultra.

A lot of people talking about display port and I agree. From now on I think most headsets should have at least two USBC ports and at least one of them with display port capability. Although if the claims of significantly reduced latency are true then that’s awesome. Hopefully they can reduce compression as well.

The trackers becoming an accessory to the headset like that is so huge. The amount of games that can be developed for the Pico Store that just take advantage of FBT as a method of control and input will be very competitive in n of itself. They already eluded to this in their "trailer" for the headset, that some games were using the FBT as a main input method. I love this and Meta definitely needs to hop on this train because computational FBT will never hit the same level as FBT with actual hardware.

I dont see myself getting another headset until some company releases a wireless capable heaset with oleds(and not the psvr 2 type). I dont need more resolution, so much horsepower needed for more. Improve the quality of what we get before quantity.

We need some NON standalone HMD's again. PCVR is and will always be king. NO matter how powerful your pc is, wireless VR will ALWAYS be less quality than wired VR. That said, I fully support anything that topples the Meta monstrosity.

It seems like a good headset except for the refresh rate, 90 hz is way to low and being that there has been research done that shows that a refresh rate of 120 hz leads to less motion sickness. Also pico headsets have a smaller App Library

I have to agree with the comments here, adding a displayport would have given it the best of both worlds and would have resulted in so many more sales. Yet another atrocious decision from a company making VR headsets. I really don't get it at all.

Why don’t these companies just put a freaking display port usb already using virtual link. We have the technology why not just do it so we can get uncompressed pcvr.

Looks like some accessories like face gaskets from Pico 4 might fit? Anyway, I really do hope they improve the pancake lenses and catch up to Quest 3 level quality!

Pico 4 ultra is more like side grade than upgrade

It will not last long. Quest 3 is coming and it’s just a quest 3 with fresnel lenses for half/one third of the price. The quest 3s will crush this off the market by the time it releases in the US.

Well, they push AR in VR headset like meta. And no display port for PC connection, our hopes are shattared. Also where is eye tracking for better rendering from pico pro? comming in pico ultra pro??? lol

As someone who owns both the Pico 4 and the Quest 3, the colors difference on both panels is big! And for me, it was enough reason to upgrade from P4 to Q3..

Ty Tyriel! Looks pretty cool, but at this point im just not hyped for new headsets anymore. Every single time they have a chance to include a display port or oled they just don't for some magical reason. Its getting old. I will be using my Quest pro with all of its bells and whistles for a long time it seems.
